Im Dumb.
Hey Guys,

I find myself making this post because I feel bad about rolling and winning the Quest Item for 25 man Malygos that drops off of Sapph. Before I explain my "dumbness" (in the fact that I really don't research loot upgrades since I enjoy  the "surprise" aspect),  I'd like to say that I am totally not a loot-oriented player but more like a "Progression/see content-oriented player". When I hit level 80 I never cared what spec would be my main. That's why I asked nisym specificly as to what spec for me he thought would benefit our raid best.  I actually dont like rolling against anyone on any loot  for main spec vs main spec, I prefer to only take loot that no one else is after that is why you might notice that the only times I will roll against another is when both of us are going for it for off-spec. Like my Ret Set was mostly built from emblems, crafted, heroics, and instead of sharding.  I mean I even have some valorous pieces for tanking which I never do anymore. (I also found that valorous tier gear is not best in-slot for pally healing imo.)
Now what happened with that maly quest item was when i threw a roll out there, I was honestly just after the Quest item like progression-wise not even thinking about the benefit for main spec.  Now when i got the quest item and went to turn it in, my original intention was to grab the healing one.  When i saw that the difference between the healing 10man neck and 25man neck was not significant and really wouldn't help me benefit the raid better seeing that pallies didnt need the extra spell power with the huge burst heals we already have, so I figured maybe i should get the Ret neck instead for when I'm asked to dps. (seeing healing is not as dependent on gear as it was raiding in TBC. like take a look at my 28.5k mana pool in full raid buff w/o the quest item neck already.)
It was recently brought to my attention regarding how wrong my actions might be percieved making me realize that I didn't quite think before acting.  The rolls were for main spec so I should have gotten the main spec item simply because that was what the rolls were for. Meaning if I didn't roll, anyone else would have used it for their MAIN spec.  Here i am turning in a quest item not even thinking that it mattered which one i chose. I'll say this now though, If that "best in-slot end game neckpiece" was not hidden within a quest item/reward, I totally wouldn't have even have thrown a roll out there. I'm so sorry.
If it's any consolation, even if I know it really makes no difference other than for principle, I did try to open a ticket to switch my 10man quest item healing neck piece to Ret and vice versa after realizing my mistake.  I was told that it really makes no difference now and that I should just be more careful and aware next time.
So I'm posting this formal apology hoping that this incident will not change the way you guys see me.  I'm proud of my reputation as the "Trash-Collector."  Anyway, for what it's worth, I'm sincerely sorry.

Nualrom

Re: Im Dumb.
A few points:
1.  Sometimes it takes a careless roll to really make you think about others.  I know this from experience.  (For me it was T4 shoulders, if you'd believe it, back when T4 was "omgwowgottahaveit".  I out-rolled our main tank like a nub and didn't even think about my error until they'd already master looted them to me).

2.  We all make mistakes, and if you feel you made one here, at least yours was on an item that will drop every with with 100% certainty!

3.  I love having you as a last line of defense against sharding.  I also love that you're generally willing to pass items to others.

4.  Your signature is awesome.

No worries, Nualrom, everyone will eventually get that quest neck.  But I'm glad you're thinking of the effects of rolling against folks who might need it more.  :D
